Why should I buy handcrafted soap?  The soap in the grocery store is much less expensive, isn’t it just as good?

Well, you know we have not visited Proctor and Gamble and actually observed how the ‘big guys’ make their soap but their labels should give us all a clue as to what their soap is made of; and what it does not include.  They may include chemicals, alcohol, synthetic preservatives and sometimes petroleum-based ingredients.  What it does not have is the all important glycerin. Since it is such a valuable commodity they remove it to be sold to the cosmetic and other industries.

If I buy a bunch of soap will it go bad?

Actually the longer your soap is exposed to air, the harder it gets and the longer it will last.  We don’t recommend storing it in plastic and if not exposed to extreme temperatures it should last indefinitely.  If you think the fragrance has faded it usually ‘comes back to life’ when wet.

How long will a bar last and how do I make my soap last longer?

With proper care our experience has shown a bar will last approximately 25-30 showers.  You’ve got to let the soap dry after use which is where a good, draining, soap dish is effective.  If your soap sits in a puddle it will get soft and wash away quickly.

I ordered a particular fragrance and now I don’t see it on your website.  Is it still available?

In an effort to keep our product line interesting some fragrances do change with the seasons.  As far as soap goes, if it’s not on the site chances are it is gone, but it wouldn’t hurt to call or e-mail.  When it comes to the other products we can always make those for you.  There are small minimums for each product (two shower gels, for example) but we will gladly make whatever you would like! 

What about custom fragrances or labels?
That’s the fun thing about being a small business, we do have the flexibility to create just for you.  If you would like a certain fragrance for a special event, we can do it for you as well as take it one step further into custom labels.
